Prep is Key to Great Results
Follow these four steps to prepare the wood surface:
Step 1: Scrape the wood to remove peeling paint or stain.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. Lead is toxic. If you suspect that there is lead in the paint, contact the USEPA National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-0424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead for more information.
Step 2: Clean the wood surface with Pittsburgh Paints and Stains Ultra Deck Cleaner
Step 3: Pressure wash and sand to remove loose wood fibers.
Step 4: Use Revitalize to fill in cracks in the wood:
- When using Revitalize Heavy-Moderate, you can fill cracks and depressions up to 1/4 inch deep.
- Revitalize Light is for hairline cracks only.
Application Instructions
Once the surface is properly prepared, it is easy to apply Revitalize:
Step 1: Cut in and apply first coat with 1/2" naproller or high-quality brush.
Step 2: Apply second coat. Two coats are required.
